National Sandwich Day is celebrated annually on November 3rd in the United States. This day is dedicated to one of the most popular foods in the world: the sandwich – a practical, versatile, and beloved meal enjoyed by millions of people.

History of the Celebration
This day is associated with the name of John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, who lived in the 18th century. According to legend, he was so engrossed in playing cards that he didn’t want to stop even for a meal. He ordered his servant to bring him a piece of meat placed between two slices of bread so he could eat with one hand without interrupting his game. This is how the first sandwich was born, and its name eventually became a commonly used term.
